Thank You Richard!

In November 2024 we wished Richard Maw a happy and well-deserved retirement. Richard has served the Trust faithfully for 18 years (joining in 2006).

On behalf of the Trust, Andrew Southall said:

Thank you Richard for your exemplary dedication to the Trust. Among the many things we will miss about you are your keen eye for detail, your passion for environmental causes and your refreshing candour.

Richard’s professional background in horticulture gave the Trust’s ‘Environmental Action & Sustainability’ category invaluable expertise and, over the past 18 years, most of the successful applications to this category have been looked at by Richard. Additionally, Richard has held responsibility for several aspects of the Trust’s finances.

As part of our thanks to Richard, The Southall Trust will be sponsoring tree planting, meadow creation and orchard management at the National Trust’s Clent Hills nature reserve this year.

Following Richard’s departure, the Trust will be looking to appoint a couple of new trustees in the year ahead.
